Hydrolysis is a chemical reaction between chemicals and water. In baghouse filtration, the reaction occurs when moisture is introduced into the environment. When a fiber has poor hydrolysis resistance, humidity or water will break down the fabric's fibers leading to filter bag blinding and eventually premature bag failure from holes. When humidity or moisture is present in the baghouse, a filter media that offers excellent resistance to hydrolysis is needed.
